Inet South LLC is a partnership formed between Harvern Davis and Butch Evans. Harvern is a disabled veteran of the U.S. Air Force with 18+ years of experience in the ISP industry, having worked to deliver internet access services over wireless technologies since about 2005. Butch is a veteran of the US Army and has been involved in the ISP industry since 1995, beginning his career as a dial-up ISP in southeastern Missouri. Butch has worked both as an ISP and as a consultant to the ISP industry, using a variety of technologies, including both wired and wireless. While our formal partnership began only a couple of years ago in 2020, Harvern and Butch have been working together for about 15 years.
Inet South has located several areas in the southern U.S. that have a significant lack of access to broadband technology. It is our belief that broadband is much more than just a useful tool for gaming or watching television. In our world today, the real need for broadband is truly a growing concern, especially in impoverished and rural areas of the U.S. We are seeking out areas that others have overlooked. As of this writing, we are investigating and building plans for the following areas:
Southern McNairy County, TN – We intend to build out a high speed fiber service that extends from the river (actually, a bit east of the river) in the east all the way past Middleton, TN in the west. We are planning to build out from U.S. 64 south to the state line. This project is in active planning stage. This map will give you an idea of the scope of this project
Northeastern Louisiana – Interstate 20 to the state line in the north from approximately Rayville east to the state line. We have plans for south of I-20 as well. This project is in active planning phase. Here is the map for this project area:
We have additional plans in NW Louisiana as well as NW Arkansas, Alabama (mostly the southeast) and west-central Georgia. Much of the areas we have highlighted above may have coverage from other providers, but our plan is to build where we can make a business plan work and MOST of the above areas fit our model.
Fiber is so badly needed in McNairy County. I live in Chewalla along the state highway(TN 234) that goes into MS. Looking forward to progress in this area!
